Covid Ventilation across TQF

Covid Ventilation across TQF

With colder weather approaching, the Foundation is addressing the need to balance ventilation within our buildings, for Covid purposes, against the need to keep warm. The following decisions, effective immediately, are based on The Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) advice.

 ·         High level windows are to be opened if available, instead of lower windows, as cold incoming air gets more chance to warm up before it reaches people

·         No requirement to leave fire doors wide open, but instead open numerous windows

·         ‘Purging’ spaces between uses (ie. open windows or doors more fully) where ‘in-session’ ventilation is harder

·         The exception to the above points is FYH, which has non-recirculating air conditioning

We are confident that these measures, along with our existing practice around mask-wearing in indoor spaces where distancing is not possible, will continue to mitigate our Covid risk, as most of our rooms can be well-ventilated using the windows.
