General Election

It will not have escaped your notice that a general election will take place on 12 December.  As  Higher Education provider we have a duty to encourage the electoral registration of students at Queen's.  We have already spoken to our resident students but I want to remind everyone that in order to vote you must be entitled to vote, and as such must sign up to do so in good time, this can be done at https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote . If you are already registered to vote in two areas, which would be permitted in a local election, you are reminded that you may only vote once in a General Election. If you use Queens as your primary or only address, then do register with the property in which you reside; if you use an alternative address as your primary home then we encourage you to register also, but at that ‘home’ address. Weekly commuters are advised that Queens is not your permanent address. If you have any questions or require assistance with regards to registration, please email enquire@queens.ac.uk and this will be arranged.
