Information for all students on Undergraduate and Taught Postgraduate Programmes

Each of you has a Personal Tutor, who is your first port of call if you have an issue or question. You should all know who that person is.

You may not know that you also have a Director of Studies, who makes sure that your academic programme is clear, manageable and in line with the university regulations. The DoS will also be involved if you need a long extension, an Individual Learning Plan, an application for mitigations or Special Adverse Circumstances. Finally, if you need to make a change to the programme originally agreed or suspend your studies, they will be part of the conversation.

Here is a list of our current Directors of Studies:

  • If you are an independent student or on the Durham MA, Jen Smith is your Director of Studies.
  • If you are part of the Centre for Black Theology (undergraduate or Newman MA) it is Dulcie McKenzie.
  •  If you are a Methodist in initial formation, your DoS is Catrin Harland-Davies.
  • If you are an Anglican, it's Steve Muneza.
  • If you are a Methodist Probationer, your DoS is George Bailey.
In the course of your time at Queen's you may not have anything to do with your Director of Studies, but it helps to know who they are.

Best wishes,

Peter Kevern
