This notification is to advise you that a new Academic Malpractice Policy has been published. This information has been emailed directly to all students on university validated programmes.
The new policy can be found on Moodle here:
Course: Academic Policies, Section: Queen's academic policy documents
The new policy applies to all assignments submitted for modules where the teaching for that module began in the Spring term, 2024.
For modules where teaching began before the Spring term 2024, the previous academic malpractice policy still applies.
The new Academic Malpractice policy applies to all students at The Queen’s Foundation on programmes validated by:
- Durham University (Common Awards)
- Birmingham Newman University
The policy also applies to Queen’s students who are:
- on a Not for Credit (NFC) programme
- on a taster course
- required to complete assessments as part of their formational programme
- completing work for postgraduate research (PGR) accreditation.
The policy has some new sections, including guidance on the use of Generative AI, and students should also note that the new Academic Malpractice Policy covers all the categories of students listed above, whereas previously there were separate policies for students on programmes accredited by the different universities.
Please take the time to familiarise yourself with the new policy before you submit assignments on modules which began this term. You will be aware that every time you submit an assignment you are asked to make a declaration that you have read the Academic Malpractice Policy.
This notification will also be posted on the main Moodle announcements forum. If you have any questions about the policy, please contact me.
The Academic Handbooks have also been updated in line with the changes to the Academic Malpractice Policy. The updated Academic Handbooks can be found on Moodle: Course: Academic Information
