Dear All

Members of the community of the Queen’s Foundation join with many others around the world in expressing deep sadness on hearing of the death of Her Majesty the Queen yesterday. We join the nation in grief and thank God for her long and distinguished reign and for her faith in Jesus Christ, which has been an inspiration to countless people throughout her reign. We join in the prayers being said for her family and for King Charles III in his new role.

We commend to others the prayer provided by the Church of England:

Gracious God, we give thanks

for the life of your servant Queen Elizabeth,

for her faith and her dedication to duty.

Bless our nation as we mourn her death

and may her example continue to inspire us;

through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Any member of our community who happens to be on site today may wish to join in a short time of quiet in the chapel at 12.30pm (UK time), rounded off before 12.45 with the prayer above, a prayer for King Charles III, and a prayer for the many people who will be involved in the planning of services and acts of commemoration around the country and around the world, planning which is sure to involve, and at times be led by, formers students and staff from Queen's. You are invited to add your prayers to ours, wherever you may be, and at whatever time is appropriate for you.

With blessings and best wishes as always

Clive
