The vote in General Synod, which defeated the measure about women in the episcopate, has left many of us outraged, shamed, confused, and let down.  In the day-time College community we will use the discipleship meeting this Wednesday to listen to each other and attend to issues around this and have an opportunity to bring our thoughts and feelings before God in chapel.  I encourage MM weekend groups to take time in their community meetings to do the same.  The Presidential address by Rowan WIlliams at the end of the synod is attached to this email.  He names some realities with clarity, but raises yet more questions which will continue to trouble the Church of England and its relationships with other Churches.
