Information from Academic Registry

To all students

I am writing to make you aware of the QAA (Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education) review that we are undergoing this year.  This is a major review which is held every four years (with annual monitoring in between).  We have had the preparatory meeting and now have a month to complete a huge self-evaluation document.  This involves gathering a large amount of data from the last three years and it is going to consume a lot of staff time – especially staff in the academic registry team.  Can I therefore ask for your understanding if enquiries take a bit longer to get an answer, or if there are other delays in information.  Nick Ross, the lead student representative in the process, will also be doing a lot of work over the next month to ensure that student voices contribute fully to the process.

We need to make sure that any urgent concerns of yours get through for instance about issues imminent for the end of this term or beginning of next.  Please use the Registry@queens.ac.uk email (as this is monitored by more than one person) or speak to Registry, Andrea (for post graduates) Rachel for undergraduates or your personal tutor.   To assist with ensuring we focus on the most important questions, if you have non-urgent issues can you delay them or do all you can to find answers from published material in handbooks or policy documents (either that you have been given in hard copy or that are on Moodle).    We appreciate your assistance with this.

Thank you.
