Please see the below invitation from Professor Clive Marsh:

I am writing to you as a current Queen’s student to invite you to join in the celebration of the end of the year 2022-23 at our Foundation Celebration Event. We would be delighted if you were able to be present.

Leaving students in particular are invited to celebrate the end of the year, and the end of your time at Queen’s, with family and friends, staff-members and other guests at our Celebration Event on June 10th. Leaving students are invited to bring up to three guests to attend. There may be other spaces available later, but for the moment we need to apply this limit.

Continuing students are warmly invited to attend too, though whether there will be spaces for guests is not yet known. We shall contact you again if places do become available.

You are welcome to arrive any time from 11.00 in preparation for the service of Celebration, and to stay for as much of day as you wish. Refreshments will be available through to 11.30. We ask you to be seated ready for the service by 11.50 at the latest.

The approximate timetable for the day will be as follows:

12.00   Service of Celebration and Thanksgiving for the year

1.15     Celebration meal

After lunch: children’s activities available on the chapel lawn, with a time for informal conversation etc. plus an opportunity for photos of groups of family members/friends.

2.30     Formal group photographs

3.00     Presentation of Certificates and gifts

Formal events will finish around 4.30 pm. Informal celebrations may continue!

I would be grateful if you could sign up for the event via Eventbrite by Friday 28th April. Please use this link:

https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/the-queens-foundation-celebration-event-2023-tickets-558760476627

You will be able to indicate any special dietary or access requirements when booking.

Leaving students: please only book in at this stage people you know will definitely be attending. This will give us a better picture of how many places there may then be for further guests. You will receive a reminder about the deadline for booking and then a further invitation to book extra places should these become available.

One final note: we shall, of course, need staff and continuing students to act as stewards on the day – to distribute orders of service and information sheets, to show people to their seats etc.. If you are happy to volunteer to play such a role then, in addition to booking in for your meal, please do send an email message to Kate Knight (knightk@queens.ac.uk) to let her know that you’re ‘happy to help’. Many thanks.

I do hope you will be able to join in what is sure to be a memorable occasion.

With best wishes,

Clive
