Dear all,
Welcome to a new academic year! As you either begin your studies or start a new phase in your course, there is lots of support available to you.
1. The writing mentor service. Students who use this service have told us how helpful they have found it. For more information on what is available and how to book a session, see here: https://queens.commonawards.org/course/view.php?id=1263
2. Online study skills support. Whether you’re looking for reminders about how to build good paragraphs, arguments and introductions or you need guidance on how to reference consistently, there is a wide (and growing) range of study skills resources on Moodle.
See here for the essentials: https://queens.commonawards.org/course/view.php?id=1263
And here for developing your skills further: https://queens.commonawards.org/course/view.php?id=1522
3. To consolidate these resources, we also deliver a range of live study skills workshops throughout the year. The first session this year is: An introduction to theological writing.
In this interactive workshop, we’ll think about what it means to write theologically and look at a range of practical skills that will help us represent our own views clearly as well as recognising others’ contributions.
Choose between:
Monday 3rd October (7-8:30pm)
OR
Tuesday 4th October (7-8:30pm)
(If you can’t do either of these dates, the session will be re-run later in the term)
- Available to all students (although priority will be given to those who have not attended before, if oversubscribed)
- Delivered in hybrid format: choose between attending online or in person
- Limited places – only sign up when you're confident you can attend
- Some preparation work required (30 minutes)
