An Update on Library Usage

Due to government guidance during this period of lockdown (all unnecessary journeys and presence on campus being actively discouraged within Covid regulations) we have had to come to the conclusion that aside from those who live on site, in-person collections of books from the campus must be suspended.

The postal service, however, will continue to be available. Whilst the encouragement of all library users to make as much use of e-resources as is possible remains, the temporary suspension of the collection service is not intended to discourage use of physical books. We simply ask all to think carefully about what is actually needed.

With regard to book returns, books can be posted back to the library, including using the Royal Mail’s ‘parcel collect’ service. Returning books in person to the Returns Box remains permissible only if you can do so within current government guidelines. Drop off is easier than collection!

We trust that you will understand that this change to library arrangements, whilst inconvenient, is necessary in the current climate.

Best wishes to all

Clive
